This is Day 2 of the 7-Day challenge to help you be more visible on LinkedIn 🚀
You can find here Day 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7.
Each day I will share one simple action step to improve your LinkedIn presence 🔎 And I will make sure it will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Let's go!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are here on this platform to solve problems for other people.
So, how do you provide value for your audience?
Today we will figure out who is your audience and what problem you are solving.
Take all your keywords from yesterday and filter them, using this question:
What soft & hard skills from your list help people make or save money or time? 💸⌛️
Example:
On my list I had: great host, experience in PR & Advertising, personal branding enthusiast, innate storytelling vibes, people oriented, film directing graduate, lots of NGO experiences.
Having listened for the past few months to people from different groups, I traced down one core problem I can help with, using my skills:
👉 creating video resumes for people that want to find their dream job / more clients.
This makes people money (new job/client = money) and saves them the time of applying to jobs / having too many discovery calls, making them visible to their audience INSTANTLY.
This is one of the 3 problems I solve right now and that are fully aligned with my skills, making me the obvious choice for my target audience.
But who is YOUR audience?
I will not bore you with all the questions you already know (and probably dread) in order to craft a customer persona, but I need to know one thing from you:
Are you sure your audience is on LinkedIn?
Don’t laugh, I mean it! :))
For example, one of my broad targets is ”ambitious young professionals”.
Most of them are on LinkedIn. But med students, for example, aren’t really here. Neither are chefs. Or most supermarket middle-managers.
Alrighty.
You have now a defined audience and a problem to solve.
Final thing before we put it all together - your tone of voice 🎙
Are you funny, direct or relatable?
Lara Acosta says she helps you ”slay on LinkedIn” and Jay Acunzo says ”differentiate with stronger IP and stories!”
Pretty different tones, right?
In choosing your tone, maybe brand archetypes will give you a helping hand (you can find them in the pdf below).
NOW it is the time…
… to write a statement combining all three. This is your USP ⚡️
For me, it looks like: I help ambitious professionals stand out from the LinkedIn crowd by telling their story in one unforgettable video. OR I help ambitious professionals stand out from the crowd by crafting unforgettable video & written content.
Change your bio with your new USP and create a quick banner in Canva, using it.
Now, hopefully everything is waaay more clear for the people scrolling through your profile.
I will see you tomorrow where we will lay our focus on the experience & recommended sections from your LinkedIn profile 👀
P.S.: check this pdf for more knowledge ❤️ also all the love to Lara & Jay!
