This is Day 4 of the 7-Day challenge to help you be more visible on LinkedIn ๐
You can find here Day 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7.
Each day I will share one simple action step to improve your LinkedIn presence ๐ And I will make sure it will take less than 10 minutes to complete.
Let's go!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The volunteering section on LinkedIn may make or break your personal brand.
Remember what we said on Day 1 about how association is one of the 4 personal branding pillars? ๐
This includes the companies & people you have worked with, the professionals circles you have sneaked in and the NGOs you chose to devote your time to.
And the reason why you need them on your LinkedIn is simple: you will connect to people over them.
For example, I am part of the Aspire Romania network (btw, you can still apply for their 2024 programs until 25th of May - fully recommend it).
I put that on my profile because I regularly bump into some of the 1300+ people that graduated the program on LinkedIn.
And when I do, the fact that we shared one experience together (although not in the same year) means I donโt need to scratch my brain for a sophisticated icebreaker.
Because the conversation starter is already there, in both our profiles ๐
I also put on LinkedIn the non-profit I founded and the other 2 non-profits I donated my time to.
Because, chances are, people will respond to your connection request in a heartbeat, if they are part of any of them or they have just remotely heard about that organization.
Some of the NGOs, like Aspire, also have an aura of prestige, because it is pretty hard to be accepted.
So the affiliation becomes basically a vote of confidence - or as us Romanians would say, โacuma ศtiu de unde sฤ te iauโ ๐
Now, this is your chance to put some organizations in your volunteering or experience section.
You will benefit from it, I guarantee it.
I will see you back next week, when we will lay our focus on getting followers, posting, commenting & DMing here โจ
